IDENTITY RESET

LOVEGIRLZ MARCH DEVOTIONAL

Week 1: Identity Reset
Theme: Who Am I, Really?

DAY 1 — Before the Crown
📖 Scripture of the Day
1 Samuel 16:7
“People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”

The Story
When the prophet Samuel came to Jesse’s house to anoint the next king of Israel, David wasn’t even invited into the room.
His older brothers stood tall, strong, impressive. They looked like kings. They looked like what everyone expected.
David was outside.
Working.
Sweaty.
Unseen.
When Samuel saw Eliab, the oldest brother, he thought, “Surely this is the one.”
But God whispered something powerful:
“People look at the outward appearance, but I look at the heart.”
David didn’t look like a king.
But heaven had already chosen him.
He was crowned in private before he was recognized in public.

A Story From Today
There was a teenage girl who deleted a photo 12 minutes after posting it because it didn’t get enough likes.
Twelve minutes.
Her mood changed.
Her confidence dropped.
Her value felt questioned.
What changed?
Nothing about her.
Only numbers.
And yet, so many girls measure their worth by digital applause.
But what if identity was never meant to be counted?
Reflection
• Where do I look for approval?
• When do I feel unseen?
• If no one applauded me, would I still know I am chosen?

Identity Truth
You are not valuable because you are noticed.
You are valuable because you are known by God.
David was chosen before he was celebrated.
And so are you.

Prayer
Father, in the  name  of Jesus, please help me believe that I am chosen even when I feel unseen.
Teach me to value what You see in me more than what others applaud.
